Intensive Arabic Language Program
For more information about our summer language programs, download our Summer Brochures here:
The Intensive Arabic Language Program, offered during the summer, are four-week modular courses, July 8 - August 1, 2013 and August 5 - August 29, 2013. The courses focus on Modern Standard Arabic (the written language). The July session will be taught at two elementary levels and the August will also offer an intermediate level .
Academics
Classes meet four days a week, six hours each day, and students can expect several hours of homework every day. In order to provide an opportunity for students to actually speak Arabic and immerse in the culture, students will go on weekly field trips to visit locations of interest in Arab communities in the northern parts of Israel. An afternoon homework club is available for students who are interested in receiving extra help with their studies from local students.
The courses are taught in English and are designed for students with no prior knowledge of the Arabic language (Elementary I), for students that have already studied the Arabic alphabet (Elementary II), or for students looking to build on their grammar skills (Intermediate I).
The Arabic Language Program awards five academic credits.
